Exactly one year ago Neotech began working together with Школой художественного перевода Владимира Баканова. In that time we jointly held lectures and a special literary translation competition for the students of the Lomonosov MGU Higher School of Translation. A work-study program was developed and implemented for students of the same department. As part of a mentoring program for young Neotech specialists, Vladimir Igorevich provides consulting services on issues related to translating advertising and marketing texts. And, finally, Neotech specialists took part in the Bakanov School’s annual fall academic and research conference, where literary translation specialists gather from all over Russia.

For the fifth time in a row Neotech has taken part in the largest oil industry forum on post-soviet territory – the Kazakhstan KIOGE 2008 exposition, which ran October 7–10 in the city of Almaty.

This past September Neotech’s Moscow office announced the start of a program for training translators to work with translation memory systems. This decision was prompted by constantly growing work volumes and an increasing number of projects in which the application of translation memory systems is essential.

At the request of one its clients, Neotech organized and held a one-week training course for a terminology specialist.
