Neotech has successfully passed the audit for compliance with the EN 15038:2006 European Quality Standard

On February 18, 2013, Neotech successfully passed the audit for compliance with the unified EN 15038:2006 European Quality Standard “Translation Services – Service Requirements” approved by the European Commission and implemented as of August 1, 2006.

In 2003, Neotech became the first Russian translation company to pass the certification audit for compliance with the international DIN EN ISO 9001:2000/9001:2008 Quality Management System. The company decided to move to the new standard, because ISO 9001 was developed without consideration of the specific nature of the translation business and was aimed more at management and supervision of the translation process, which is not the only criterion for assessing the quality of the end product.     EN 15038:2006 clearly regulates the entire process of providing translation services, from translators’ qualifications to the documented quality assurance system.

The EN 15038:2006 standard describes the process of providing translation services in detail: translation project management, preparation for translation, technical and linguistic aspects, the actual translation process, editing the translation, proofreading, final editing and delivery to the client. It is worth noting that the standard also defines the rules for relations between the customer and the translation services supplier and interprets the requirements for a number of related services provided by translation companies.

Representatives of the Language Industry Certification System (LICS) who conducted the audit for compliance with EN 15038:2006 noted the high level of Neotech’s quality management system, associated documents (quality guidelines and records), and all translation processes as a whole, which is confirmed by the current certificate.
